  • Mtv software
    • The operation of it, how it works, should work..
    • Mtv on the local device (called the client)
    • Mtv on the server
  • The computer /handheld
    • The computer itself - netbook
    • Accessories such as camera, video, webcam, microphone
    • Operating system on the device
  • The network & connection problems
    • Your internal network– the server, the fire-wall, admin and supervisor problems
    • Our network, the AWS (Amazon Web Services) has extremely high reliability

Network problems

Connecting

If you are properly connected you will see this:

sync online

If not you will see this:

sync offline

To synchronise with the Mtv server and send your documents to your colleagues or receive their documents, click on the cog icon and click "Synchronize":

Do synchronise

If you still cannot synchronize, check the settings of your device. Click "Options" from the menu above and you will receive the following screen:

Mtv options dialog

You will almost certainly be configured to the Mtv server, in which case the radio button should be selected. But has it been made correctly? Just as you would configure your browser you have to ensure that the Mtv software is configured properly.

Click "Settings" from the above screen:

Proxy configuration

You will either know or your local supervisor will know what settings you should have, we unfortunately cannot give general advice here.

The Computing Device

Accessories

Webcam

Problem: the webcam will not work.

Cause: the drivers between the webcam and Mtv have somehow got confused. Mtv could be looking at the wrong drivers. This happens when a new webcam is added but drivers for a previous webcam are still on the computing device.

Solution: un-install all previous webcam drivers, then re-install the webcam drivers for the present model following the instructions carefully.
